About The Fariah Academy, Abuja

The Fariah Academy, Abuja, (TFA) is an International school located in Kaura District, along Dubai Market road, by Games Village. It is in the heart of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, but away from the noise, hustle and bustle of the main city of Abuja, in an environment conducive to learning.

The Fariah Academy, Abuja is a private, government approved, co-educational, day and circular institution with the combination of the Nigerian and British curricula. We have over twenty-nine years experience in school administration running The Fariah Foundation Schools, in Bauchi state of Nigeria.
Presently, The Fariah Academy, Abuja has the Basic and Senior Schools, which encompasses, The Early Years, Primary and High School with the capacity to prepare students to write the Basic Education, Checkpoint, Senior Secondary, IGCSE and other Cambridge Examinations in line with Nigerian and British curricula.
In addition, The Fariah Academy, Abuja has a purposeful International Language programs to teach our scholars starting from Early Years all through to the High School the following languages: Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic and of course, French which is already part of the Nigerian Curriculum. The intention is to prepare the scholars not only to speak these languages, but also to write international certification examinations in them.  We also take our local languages seriously.
We also have a robust program to develop our scholars for the IT world. They will be exposed to a very practical IT experiences such as Coding, Web Design, Graphic Designs, Office presentation, PHP Game Studio, COBOL Fortran and Pascal.
With the Nigerian Curriculum, there are unique entrepreneurial programs to prepare our scholars for economic activities they can engage in for self-employment. Programs selected are crafts: such as bag, shoe and pastry making, home decoration, fashion design (garment making), as well as marketing to enable them understand the business aspect of the entrepreneurship skill.

We have at the top of the affairs a well-experienced Board of Directors, headed by Dr. Ibrahim Lame, a seasoned educationist. The team of highly qualified and experienced teachers and teacher assistants are lead by the Head of Schools – Mrs Rita Chiejina. Our non-academic staff are trained professionals, especially in the area of food handling and child caregivers.

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfill their potentials. We believe that a child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their chances in life. For a solid background, as our pupils forge ahead in schooling, we adopt the Jolly Phonics integrated with Montessori for language and diction in our curriculum. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow. At The Fariah Academy, we follow the EYFS framework in doing this we adopted a curriculum which provides children with the best possible start to their schooling by:



In the elementary section, we aim at providing our pupils with the essential foundation for academic pursuit. It is a world where passion for life – long learning experiences is built and every pupil is exposed to learning experiences geared towards developing such a pupil into a highflyers as well as empower them with essential life skills to enable them compete with their peers all over the world in academics a well as in morals. We offer learning sessions that nurture all our pupils to their full potentials as well as assist our pupils in the development of appropriate study skills such as to provide the required foundation at some point for their journey into the High School.

Our curriculum is focused on developing learners who are confident, responsible, innovative, and engaged. Our high school admits students aged 10-16, as we run a combined curriculum of the Nigerian and British elements to prepare our scholars for the Nigerian based examinations, such as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), and others, the Checkpoint Examinations on completion or year 9 basic education. For the Senior Secondary, we prepare our students to write the West African Senior Secondary Examination (WASSCE), The Nigerian NECO Examination, IGCSE and other Examinations at the completion of year 12.
